Refreshed Friday evening from the latest supplied Main Saturday 4482 file. Twelve games, cash priorities, tournament pivots and the exact supplied contest payouts. Friday’s three-game slate has its own workspace.
The uploaded board points toward Missouri–Ole Miss, Mississippi State–LSU and Georgia Tech–Virginia Tech as the highest-total environments. Projection, salary and ownership figures below come from the supplied October 16 snapshot. They remain estimates rather than confirmed outcomes.
The best plays to start with
Avery Johnson is my starting QB comparison: 23.90 projected points at $7,500, only 0.21 behind Kevin Jennings while saving $700. J’Koby Williams is the first running-back value I would test: 23.26 at $6,700. Jamal Roberts supplies the strongest combination of raw RB projection and a salary below the $10,000 tier: 28.51 at $8,500. Jeremiah Smith leads the entire uploaded pool at 29.16 projected points, but his $9,700 salary requires deliberate savings elsewhere.
These are starting points for complete roster comparisons. A player with the best raw projection can lose value when his salary forces two weak selections. Conversely, a strong value should not be included solely to maximize unused salary. Evaluate all eight roster slots together.
Cash priorities
Begin by testing two quarterbacks. The standard eight-player construction has QB, two RBs, three WRs, FLEX and SuperFlex. A second quarterback often offers a useful scoring route, but confirm that the complete two-QB lineup projects better than the best available skill-player alternative.
Johnson’s salary and projection make him the first quarterback comparison. Jennings costs more for essentially the same mean, though his supplied floor estimate is higher. Ethan Grunkemeyer costs $7,000 for 23.17 projected points and creates another efficient QB route. Arch Manning is cheaper again at $6,900 and 22.11. Their prices allow several combinations; there is no requirement to force the two most expensive quarterbacks.
At RB, compare Williams with Dylan Edwards. Edwards projects for 21.60 at $6,600, a lower mean for $100 less, but his supplied floor is just 2.19 compared with Williams’ 9.79. That does not make either floor a guaranteed minimum. It does explain why Edwards’ salary value needs a separate discussion of uncertainty. Roberts’ high mean makes him a premium core candidate, but his 6.94 floor estimate also argues against calling him risk-free.
Smith is the premium WR benchmark. If paying $9,700 lowers the complete roster projection too much, Cayden Lee offers 24.58 at $7,400 and Anthony Evans III offers 23.11 at $7,300. Compare those savings with the improvement they purchase at QB or the last WR slot. Luke Reynolds is another salary decision at $6,100 and 18.13, rather than an automatic inclusion because he is cheaper.
Double-ups reward crossing the cash line. First and the final paid place receive the same prize. Rank by cash probability after using the correct field and payout ladder. A six-entry double-up is a different contest profile from single entry even when both charge $10.
Quarterback board
Trinidad Chambliss leads QBs at 24.83 projected points, ahead of Jennings at 24.11 and Johnson at 23.90. Chambliss is the most expensive of the three at $8,700, so compare his upside with the salary saved by Johnson. His 7.3% projected ownership is lower than Johnson’s 16.4% and Grunkemeyer’s 26.7%. Those individual estimates do not establish the combined ownership of a finished lineup.
Keelon Russell projects for 22.60 with 3.9% ownership; Sam Leavitt for 23.32 with 5.0%. Both belong in tournament comparisons. Their salaries exceed Johnson’s, which means a pivot must improve the full lineup’s upside or structure rather than merely reduce ownership. Kamario Taylor is down to 16.64 at 0.6% ownership in this refresh. That projection drop moves him behind the leading QB alternatives; low ownership alone does not repair the points gap. Confirm the starter before using any quarterback.
Running backs: raw points versus salary
Nate Sheppard trails Roberts by just 0.09 projected points while costing $1,500 more. At 4.3% projected ownership he offers a different tournament construction, but the price gap matters in cash. DeSean Bishop and Bo Jackson occupy a middle salary tier with lower ownership than Roberts or Williams. Jadan Baugh costs $9,500 for 19.30 projected points: a low-owned ceiling choice must justify that substantial mean-projection sacrifice in the complete build.
Do not turn every lower-owned running back into a mandatory pivot. Retain strong popular values and choose a limited number of places where a different scoring distribution can change the result. There is no verified ownership edge simply because the CSV lists a small number.
Receivers and tournament alternatives
Cayden Lee stands out at $7,400, 24.58 projected points and 6.4% ownership. Anthony Evans III is another high-mean option at 23.11 with 5.9% ownership. Charlie Becker projects for 21.79 at 5.1%, while Reed Harris carries 20.83 at 2.6%. These are useful alternatives to concentrating every roster around Smith, although none is automatically a better play in isolation.
Nick Marsh offers a second Indiana route at $7,200. Deuce Alexander supplies Ole Miss receiving exposure at $7,800. Reynolds can form a Virginia Tech pairing if you choose Grunkemeyer. Use the builder’s actual team and opponent assignments when selecting partners. Changes in availability, role or price require rerunning the comparison.

How I would separate the contest builds
Small-field single entry: keep the best projected core and use one coherent passing stack. There is little benefit in replacing several strong plays solely to look different. Review the whole lineup rather than imposing an arbitrary total-ownership threshold.
Three-max: keep a core you can defend, then vary the quarterback or the game script across the three lineups. Three almost identical rosters expose the portfolio to the same failure. Three entirely unrelated rosters can discard the strongest values. Use differences that represent distinct ways the slate can score.
20-max and 24-max: build a larger candidate pool, apply the correct payout structure, and review the selected set’s exposures after ranking. Saturday’s Marching Band permits 24 entries, while Fourth Down Conversion permits 20. The contest limit controls how many you enter, not how many candidates you examine.
150-max: the $300K Main Event allocates one-third of the entire prize pool to first. The $60K End Around allocates one-sixth. These are materially different objectives even though both permit 150 entries. Correlated scoring and avoiding excessive duplication matter, but do not justify ignoring mean projection. Individual Sim ROI ranking does not by itself optimize the combined portfolio.
Before you leave in the morning
Save your intended cores and stack alternatives tonight, then check the official availability report before lock. This page is a Friday-evening research snapshot for Saturday. Default builds target a quarterback in SuperFlex in 90% of returned lineups, rounded to whole lineups. For 20 builds that is 18, and for 150 it is 135. The supplied file contains projection-provider IDs, which are retained as source identifiers. DraftKings export requires official contest salary IDs to be matched first. No final injury report, actual entrant field, or calibrated profit estimate is claimed.
Simulations use assumed player distributions, ownership and correlations. Exact payouts make the contest objective specific; they do not make an assumed field exact. Rerun after changes to player availability, salaries, exposure constraints or the selected contest.
