MLB Stack Ranker

Every team stack ranked precisely — correlated ceiling (p95s of the actual core, not a guess), Vegas run environment, boom index, and the ownership the field is leaving behind, folded into one Stack Score. Toggle cash vs GPP: cash scores floors and ignores leverage; GPP scores ceilings and pays you for being early.

📐 How the Stack Score works — and how to do it by hand

The idea: a GPP-winning stack is a big correlated ceiling the field is under-owning. When one hitter in a stack goes off, his teammates usually do too — runs, RBIs and HRs stack on each other. So we score the group, not the players.

By hand, five steps (GPP, 4-man):

1️⃣ Take a team's four highest-ceiling bats (their p95 — the "when it goes right" sim score) and add the four p95s. That's Corr Ceil — the stack's realistic blow-up night.

2️⃣ Average their boom% (each bat's chance of doubling his median). High boom = the ceiling is actually reachable, not a fluke number.

3️⃣ Grab the Vegas team total — the market's opinion of the run environment. A 5.5 team scores ~40% more than a 4.0 team on average.

4️⃣ Add the four ownership %s = Cum Own. This is what the stack costs you in leverage — a 90%-cum-own stack has to massively outscore a 25% one to be worth the same tournament equity.

5️⃣ Compare each number to the slate average. The score weights them 45% ceiling · 20% boom · 20% Vegas · 15% leverage — plus a bonus when the four bats hit consecutive lineup spots (back-to-back hitters correlate hardest; that switches on when orders confirm).

The 30-second shortcut: list the top-5 stacks by Corr Ceil, cross off any with 60%+ Cum Own, and break ties with team total. What's left is your GPP stack pool — you just did the math the tool does.

Cash flips it: sum the four floors instead of ceilings, weight 50% floor · 30% projection · 20% Vegas, and ignore ownership completely — you only need to beat half the field, so the chalk stack is usually just… correct.

Stack Score = z-weighted blend · GPP: 45% correlated ceiling · 20% boom index · 20% Vegas team total · 15% ownership leverage (batting-order adjacency bonus applies once lineups post). Cash: 50% floor · 30% projection · 20% Vegas — ownership ignored, chalk is correct. For DFS/entertainment · 21+ · play responsibly.
